In 2012, a small group of devoted families moved to downtown and inner city Birmingham with a distinct call on their lives … to take hope to the places and people in our city that were forgotten. We believed that the body of Christ was meant to live together, work together, and play together. We intentionally moved onto streets together in 5 points, Glenn Iris, and Titusville. We began to meet and pray regularly in our homes, waiting on God, asking Him, to lead us, to tell us what to do next. We asked Him to show us where His heart is, and He led us to the poor, the fatherless, and the oppressed. He led us to build a kingdom economy and invite others into it. Life together. Finding all things in common.

We recognize and whole heartedly believe that we are desperately in need of grace and mercy every day. We too were the broken and hopeless. And if it weren’t for Christ, and Him coming after us, we would still be wandering aimlessly looking for purpose. But here we are, 4 years later, and a lot has changed. We’re more zealous, a little less idealistic, and far more unified. What remains is the clarity of that call. To stop going to church and go be the church. We have leveraged every aspect of our lives for the sake of the Kingdom coming on earth as it is in heaven.
